The City of Crown Point has announced a collection drive for donations to help those affected by Sunday's severe weather outbreak in the especially hard-hit city of Kokomo. The National Weather Service says two tornadoes struck the city, both with a preliminary intensity rating of EF2. Region residents can drop off items through about 10 am
this Friday (Nov 22 2013) at the Crown Point Fire Station, 126 N East Street, in their training room, and Source One Real Estate at 855 E. North Street.
“The severe storms on Sunday devastated the lives of those who were in its path. The mission of “Crown Point Cares” is to help our fellow citizens whether they are from Crown Point or Kokomo,” said Mayor David Uran. Items needed are plastic containers, ziploc bags, diapers (all sizes), wipes, baby formula, shampoo, conditioner, tooth paste, tooth brushes cleaning supplies, flashlights and batteries.
