Pope Francis
Time Magazine goes religious for its Person of the Year. ABC News reports Time Magazine's chose the charismatic new leader of Roman Catholic Church for the prestigious award for his "focus on compassion." Vatican spokesperson Federico Lombardi said the decision didn't come as a surprise given the great resonance and attention surrounding the new pope, adding that Francis is not someone seeking fame and success, but that if he appeals to and gives hope to many, he's happy about that.
