Travel Bans Lifted in Lake, Porter; Roads Remain Hazardous

Travel bans have been lifted in Lake and Porter Counties.  Lake County Sheriff John Buncich canceled the travel emergency early Monday evening, and the advisory was canceled for Porter County at 6-o'clock this morning, however local officials urge everyone to continue to use caution and allow enough time to safely get to your destination as conditions remain treacherous.  All other counties in northwest Indiana and across most the northern half of the state remain under an emergency travel ban.  Porter County officials say Porter County Government offices are opening at 10 am today (Tue Jan 7).
