Officials in Michigan City are reminding residents that warming center locations are available for those who need them. Mayor Ron Meer says brutally cold air is expected to stick with us through next week, with temperatures in the single digits and wind chills between 20-to-40 below zero. The Mayor is also urging citizens to check on family, friends, neighbors, pets and especially the elderly during this dangerous stretch of cold weather to ensure everyone stay healthy and safe.
Warming centers will be available at the following locations:
Michigan City Police Station (24 hours)
102 W. 2nd Street
Michigan City Fire Administration Building (Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm)
2510 E. Michigan Blvd.

Michigan City Senior Center (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm)
2 on the Lake
Michigan City City Hall (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm)
100 E. Michigan Blvd.

Michigan City Public Library (during business hours)
