With all the snow northwest Indiana has received recently, you may have noticed that it has piled up quite high at intersections due to street plowing and sidewalk shoveling. Some communities, like the town of Dyer, is running out of places to put the plowed snow. Dyer Town Administrator, Rick Eberly, says they are at the point where they are considering hauling the snow out to some open fields.
In LaPorte, police are asking motorists and pedestrians to be extra cautious when approaching or crossing an intersection and don't assume that others can see you, because there is a good chance they cannot. Authorities say the same care also applies to entering or exiting driveways and parking lots.
