Munster Fire Chief Passes Away

The fire chief of Munster passed away suddenly over the weekend. Reports say 59-year-old James Knesek died Saturday afternoon from an apparent heart attack at home. Knesek, a lifelong resident of the community, was an employee of the town for 34 years. He became fire chief in 2005, and had also been serving as director of operations for Munster Public Works since 1995.
