Monday Winter Storm Looms

Forecasters say the Region is in for more serious winter weather.  There's a Winter Storm Warning in effect today through tonight (Monday February 17) and the latest outlook says some parts of northwest Indiana could see four to eight inches accumultation with isolated amounts near ten inches.  Meteorologists say snow will occasionally fall very heavily, with snowfall rates in some areas possibly reaching two to three inches per hour, leading to extremely difficult travel conditions and visibilities reduced to zero.  They also say there's a chance for thunder within the heavier bands of snow this afternoon.  Here's a link to the National Weather Service Chicago website.
