Senate Set to Vote on Marriage Amendment

Indiana's proposed constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage is headed for a final vote in the Indiana Senate today (Monday February 17), and it's currently without the controversial second sentence removed a couple weeks ago by the Indiana House. Because that sentence was taken out, and not added back last week, the measure is not expected to be on the ballot this fall -- and not for at least another two years. State representatives last month removed language from House Joint Resolution 3 that would also ban civil unions in the state.
