According to published reports, the car, occupied by five males, took off after an attempted traffic stop in the Town of Pines, fleeing down US Highway 20.
The Times is reporting the car then fled south on State Rd. 512 and west onto US 20. Police began to chase the vehicle which ended up crashing on US 20 near the Interstate 94 interchange.
Sgt. Larry La Flower of the Porter County Sheriff's Department says officers discovered guns and drugs in the vehicle and that two of the men in the vehicle had arrest warrants out on them. Sgt. La Flower says no suspects were injured in the crash while one men who left the crash scene was captured by a police K-9. The suspects' names were not given out as the investigation is ongoing.
Officers from Chesterton, Porter and Portage assisted the Porter County Sheriff's Department with the pursuit, according to the article.
