A man is being accused of battering two women at the LaPorte Walmart Tuesday evening. LaPorte Police report they were called to the scene around 7:15pm, and upon arrival observed three women yelling at the suspect outside the entrance and that there was another female laying on the ground, who was later identified as the suspect's daughter. Police report the victims informed officers they had exchanged words with the suspect, his daughter and his wife, while exiting a check-out line, and the suspect allegedly punched two of the three victims in the face, causing injury.
The suspect told officers one of the women struck his daughter, causing her to fall to the ground and experience a seizure. Police allowed him to accompany his daughter in an ambulance to the hospital. Police report they later learned the daughter was never treated and she and the suspect left the hospital upon their arrival. Further investigation substantiated the suspect was the initial physical aggressor and his daughter was never struck by the victims. Charges have been forwarded to the LaPorte County Prosecutor's Office.
