Ed Charbonneau
STATEHOUSE (March 27, 2014) – “I am pleased the Indiana General Assembly worked together to further develop a transportation plan allowing up to $400 million in previously set-aside funds to be used to improve our state’s highway infrastructure.”
“The financial commitment from legislative leaders and Governor Pence’s support open the door to additional federal funds for Indiana road projects, such as Interstate 65 and developing the Illiana Expressway.”
“A superior statewide infrastructure is one key to economic growth because it creates a trickle-down effect of new construction jobs. Industries that are vital to Northwest Indiana, such as tourism, manufacturing and agriculture, will benefit from an improved roads system as well.”
