Cleanup was continuing near an area of the Region's Lake Michigan shoreline where oil discharged from the BP Whiting Refinery MondayThe shoreline cleanup assessment team, made up of members from the US Coast Guard, EPA, and BP, is scheduled to conduct a comprehensive survey today [ Friday ] of the path of the spill in search of potentially submerged oil.  BP Thursday released a revised preliminary estimate of between 15 to 39 barrels of oil recovered, more than twice the initial amount that was thought to have been spilled. Company officials say the earlier estimate was based on visual observation of the water's surface at the outset of the incident.
