Two more K9s Join Valparaiso Police Force

The Valparaiso Police Department has effectively doubled the size of their K9 unit with the purchase of two dogs recently from FM K9 in Elkhart. According to a press release, the city's newest K9 team member is Officer John Cordova who received his first K9 partner, a 20-month old German Shepherd named “Sabre.”
  Officer Jerame Simpson, who recently retired his first K9 “Cario” is now teamed up with a 2 year-old Belgian Malino named “Rico.”  Both officers recently went through eight weeks of training with their K9 partners and both Rico and Sabre are certified through the North American Police Work Dog Association in the areas of narcotic detection, building searches, tracking suspects, article searching and aggression.
