Lake County had the biggest drop in population of all 92 counties in the state last year, with a loss of over 16-hundred residents, according to new data from the US Census Bureau. An analysis by the Indiana Business Research Center at IU's Kelley School of Business also showed that neighboring Porter County ranked tenth statewide in population growth, adding nearly 880 people. The state also grew in 2013, adding about 33-thousand, after declining for the last six years. Marion County, which is essentially Indianapolis, was for the second year in a row the state's top numeric gainer, seeing its largest one-year increase since 1992. Coming in fifth was Tippecanoe County, home to Purdue's main campus.  For more details: http://www.stats.indiana.edu/population/popTotals/2013_cntyest.asp.  Additional info also here: http://news.indiana.edu/releases/iu/2014/03/indiana-population-estimates.shtml
