A 36 year old Ohio truck driver who called in a medical emergency on Monday in Jasper County was later taken into custody after he was allegedly found to be under the influence of a narcotic drug. Indiana State Police Lowell Post reports the driver was heading north on I-65, three-miles south of the DeMotte/Roselawn exit, when he reported having trouble breathing and called for help. State Police report the driver was given medical attention at the scene. A further investigation and field test conducted on a substance in the man's possession reportedly tested positive for cocaine. The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment and cited for operating with a controlled substance, possession of cocaine, possession of paraphernalia and he was placed out of service.
