BMV Extends Hours for Voters Who Need IDs

The Indiana BMV says license branches will extend hours today (Mon May 5) and tomorrow (Tue May 6) to issue state ID cards and provide voters with credentials to cast ballots in tomorrow's primary election. Branches are open today 8:30 am to 8 pm and tomorrow 6 am and to 6pm. License branches will only be processing ID cards, driver's licenses and learner's permits. Driver's tests will not be administered. License branches will resume normal business hours and operations on Wednesday, and branches normally closed on Wednesdays will reopen Thursday, May 8th.
The Indiana BMV provi des free, state-issued ID cards for voting purposes to any unlicensed Hoosier, as long as he or she can provide proper documentation and
will be old enough to vote in the general election. The following documents are required to obtain a new state ID card or driver’s license. A complete list can be found at www.mybmv.com
 One document proving your identity , such as a birth certificate or passport
 One document proving your Social Security number, such as a Social Security card, pay stub or W-2
 One document proving your lawful status in the United States, such as a birth certificate or passport
 Two documents proving your IN residency, such as a voter registration card, utility bill or bank statement
