Ultra-Light Crash Claims Life Downstate

A 72 year-old Indiana man reportedly lost his life Saturday as a result of an ultra-light aircraft crash near Attica in Fountain County.  Preliminary reports show that the incident occurred near the Rob Roy Covered Bridge when for reasons unknown the aircraft piloted by the man, nose dived into the ground.  The pilot, identified as Charles H. Coffingof Covington, Indiana, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Fountain County Coroner's Office.  The F-A-A and the National Transportation Safety Board are en route to investigate the cause of the crash.
Assisting at the scene was the Attica Police Department, Attica Fire Department, Fountain County EMS, Fountain County Sheriff’s Department and the Fountain County Coroner’s Office.
