The "Gear up, Get Ready. It can happen!" is a new emergency preparedness pilot campaign in Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin encouraging communities to increase their awareness of being prepared in the event of an emergency. There have been awareness stops in the Region recently, including the Valparaiso Farmers Market Tuesday afternoon and the Gary South Shore RailCats game Tuesday night at US Steel Yard.   There's more info at this website www.gearupgetready.com , also www.ready.gov  .
