The fire chief of Hobart is going to have a beyond-a-bird's eye view of the Region Tuesday/today as he joins a Thunderbird for a very special practice flight... Chief Brian Taylor was named the South Shore Air Show's Hometown Hero for his act of courage in saving a three-year-old boy from a house fire in Lake Station that claimed the life of the child's mother in December. Taylor is being honored with a ride in a U-S Air Force F-16 fighter jet. The boy Taylor saved, now four, is expected to be at the airport, too. The boy's then one-year-old brother was rescued from the fire by Lake Station Fire Captain Robert Saylor. The Air Show is this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Marquette Park.
