Officials now know the events leading up to the 18 year-old Illinois man who went missing for a while in the West beach area of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore in Portage Sunday afternoon.  Lynda Lancaster Dunes Spokesperson says the man had gotten disoriented walking on the beach and had covered some 20-miles.  Lancaster said  the man experienced difficulty getting help, once he finally left the beach area.  Reportedly, several agencies participated in the search Sunday evening after the man was last seen around one in the afternoon when he informed his friends that he would be taking a walk.  With the recent drownings in the area, Lancaster said agencies and volunteers involved in the search were relieved to learned the man had been found, uninjured.
