According to Northern Indiana Public Service Company, the majority of electric customers remaining without service are mostly located in the Gary, Merrillville, Hammond and Valparaiso communities. These remaining outages are primarily due to broken utility poles, downed electrical wire and other related storm damage. The majority of customers currently without electrical service should expect to see their power restored by late afternoon or early evening on Wednesday. However, NIPSCO adds that some customers may not be restored until end of day Thursday or early Friday due to the extensive system repairs needed.
