Ensuring an uneventful trip through the region to a Chicago fund raiser, Vice President Joe Biden's motorcade inconvenienced motorists earlier today wanting to go westbound on the Indiana Toll Road. According to the Indiana State Police Lowell post, police departments across northwest Indiana joined forces today to make sure the V.P. got from LaPorte County to the Illinois State line in time for his fundraiser. Sgt. Ann Wojas, Public Information Officer said agencies assisting included Long Beach Police, Michigan City Police, LaPorte County Sheriff Police, Hammond Police, Gary Police, Crown Point Police, Merrillville Police, Lake County Sheriff Police, Porter County Sheriff Police, Portage Police, Porter Police, Burns Harbor Police, Chesterton Police, Lake Station Police, Department of Natural Resources and INDOT. Sgt. Wojas says the Vice President was in northwest Indiana over the weekend, but was not at liberty to say why he was there.
