Donations may be brought to the Bursar's Office, and checks may also be mailed to Purdue University North Central (made out to Purdue North Central, write 'apartment fire donation' in memo line), ATTN: Bursar's Office, 1401 S. US 421, Westville, IN, 46391.
Keri Marrs Barron, Director of Student Activities, told us today the outpouring from the community has been wonderful, and they're already getting donations of furniture and more.
Here's more information from PNC on donating to help:
The Purdue University North Central Office of Student Activities and the Center for Service Learning & Leadership are working to coordinate a Clothing, Household Items & Furniture Drive to support those families effected by the University Village fire.
A list of needed items will be available Wednesday at the Center for Service Learning & Leadership website at www.pnc.edu/csll .
Items in immediate need are toiletries/personal hygiene items and there is a need for diapers for a 1 year old and a 1 month old.
Until a list of clothing items needed is available, individuals who wish to help are strongly encouraged to donate gift cards that can be redeemed at local merchants for families to purchase necessary food, clothing and household items.
Individuals wishing to donate furniture or large household items should contact either Carol Connelly at 219-785-5267 or
