There was a Region food fight over the weekend, but NOT the infamous Animal House movie kind... quite the contrary, the Civic Food Fight held at the Food Bank of northwest Indiana in Gary was a gathering of local elected officials from Lake and Porter Counties learning about the food bank, and taking part in a friendly competition – two teams to see who could pack the most boxes of food to give to children in need through the food bank's Backpack program.
