Merrillville Stormwater Utility Executive Director Matt Lake reports that 73rd Avenue east of Taft Street is open. Dyer Construction Company has completed the work for installation of box culverts in connection with the ongoing Taft Street drainage improvement project. All access roads to and from the Strack’s strip mall at 73rd and Taft Street are also open, and road closure and detour signs have been removed by the crew. Lake says the work that started Monday, October 8, was completed ahead of schedule by the company, according to Mark Kaiser from Christopher Burke Engineering.
