A groundbreaking ceremony was held Tuesday in Gary to kick off the new Petro Stopping Centers location in Gary. Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson was on hand, along with representatives from TravelCenters of America, L-L-C, with the Mayor saying, “this partnership is another example of why developing the Department of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation was a good decision.” The brand new 28-point-six acre site, located on the three-thousand block of Grant Street, will be a state-of-the-art facility, and is scheduled to open the first half of 2013. A list of amenities and services offered include:

  • a 6-bay Petro:Lube truck service facility,
