An attempt to push a medical marijuana bill to a vote in the Illinois House during the veto session will have to wait until next week. Published reports say while the bill passed the Senate in 2010, it had run into opposition from members of the House, but may now have the necessary votes. Illinois is looking to become the 20th state in the nation to legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes, with a proposal for a three-year pilot program, reported to be one of the most restrictive in the nation.
