Region residents and Region businesses are watching Washington DC to see if we fall off the so-called fiscal cliff - and everyone sees a tax hike. ABC News' Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper is at the White House and says confidence isn't running high among many Americans that a deal will be reached in time. "The latest Pew Poll indicates a lot of public pessimism with 49-percent of the public saying they do not expect a deal to be struck by deadline, 40-percent a little bit more optimistic," Tapper says.
