Porter County Sheriff's Police say four people were hurt in a head-on crash involving a school bus loaded with children in the area of 192 N 500 W in Union Township Thursday. Officers say two children, ages 9 and 10, reported neck pain and were taken to a local hospital. Public Information Officer Sgt. Larry LaFlower says the initial investigation indicates that the Union Township School Corporation Bus was southbound on CR 500 W, when a northbound Jeep went left of center and struck the school bus head-on. The driver of the Jeep sustained lacerations to her face, and police say she was issued a citation for driving left of center. The school bus driver reported complaint of pain to her wrists. Police say seventeen elementary school children were on the bus at the time.
