Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital News Release (01/01/2013) La Porte, IN – A baby girl born 58 minutes after midnight was the first baby of the New Year for La Porte in 2013.

Kamryn Nevaeh Kantowski was born at 12:58 am at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She weighs 6 pounds, 7 ounces.

Her parents, Jennifer Lynn Kantowski and Anthony John Kantowski, Jr. are from Michigan City. They will be celebrating by taking family photos this Saturday.

Kamryn joins big sisters Madison and Alexis at home.

"All the nurses were great and very helpful, and we had an awesome start to the New Year!" said mother, Jennifer.

The Times today reports first babies born in the Region in 2013 also included... in Porter County, Sylas Cates, at 12:42 am at Porter Regional Hospital, to parents Gina Trimble and Steve Cates of Portage... and in Lake County, Maya James Gutierrez, born 4:17 am at Franciscan St. Anthony Health hospital in Crown Point to mom and dad Kimberly and Rudy Gutierrez of Cedar Lake.
