News Release (Jan 21 2013): JobSource, the Community Employment division of Opportunity Enterprises, has opened an office in LaPorte County.  The program is now sharing space with Barker Woods Enrichment Center, 3200 S Cleveland Avenue in Michigan City, and provides Community Employment and Adaptive Technology services to individuals with disabilities.
“We have been serving LaPorte County residents for several years,” shares JobSource Director Kathie Savich.  “As our clientele has continued to grow, we have reached a point where it makes sense for us to have a physical presence in LaPorte County as well.”
“We are very grateful to Barker Woods for allowing us to share their building in Michigan City and help us achieve OE’s vision of serving people in their own communities,” Savich continues.
JobSource has more than 25 years of experience placing and supporting qualified individuals with disabilities in community employment, and utilizes innovative protocols to ensure success.  Services include pre-vocational training programs, placement screening processes, on-site job coaching, Social Security Benefits Counseling, and an assistive technology program that features computer adaptations for clients with physical, visual, developmental and/or learning disabilities.
JobSource also has offices in both Porter and Lake Counties, which allows the program to serve all of Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland.  JobSource has successfully placed individuals with disabilities in a wide range of careers from entry-level to professional positions, and is the preferred employment agency for more than 100 businesses throughout the region.
