Rising crude oil prices, decreased gas supplies, and area refinery issues are being labeled as reasons contributing to the jump in gas prices. Triple-A Director of Public Affairs Beth Mosher says we have seen the highest start to the month of February for gas prices ever. Mosher says due to the unusual jumps in prices, we may see some relief, but not extended relief, as prices are expected to rise as we get closer to Spring. Mosher says it is hard to tell where gas prices are going to go, but on the bright side, she says we should not be flirting with four-dollar gas prices anytime soon. At last check Triple-A reports the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the Gary metropolitan area is three-dollars-60-cents, up from three-dollars-25-cents a month ago.
