New Report on Asian Carp

A new report out by the US Geological Survey says Asian carp don't need as much room to spawn as scientists thought. USGS Hydrologist Elizabeth Murphy says findings indicate that two species of Asian carp—silver and bighead carp—may be able to spawn in more Great Lakes tributaries than previously estimated.  Murphy says it's hoped that the information can help resource managers implement control measures and potentially prevent Asian carp from becoming established in the Great Lakes.
