Rain Barrel Deadline Sept 5

The Merrillville Stormwater Utility office is reminding residents and businesses about the town-wide rain barrel program. The program is being coordinated by UpCycle Products, Inc., and order forms are available at the Stormwater Utility office, 9111 Broadway, Suite C. They are also available at the Town Hall, 7820 Broadway, in the Clerk-Treasurer’s office, the Planning & Building office and the Town Manager’s office. Forms are also available at the Public Works office, 13 West 73rd Avenue, and the Pruzin Center, 5750 Tyler Street.
You can order online at www.upcycle-products.com ; click on the form for Merrillville on the right side of the Upcycle page. Or you can call Upcycle at (815) 735-9583. Completed order forms sent in by mail with payment should be sent to Upcycle Products, 400 East Wapella Street, Minooka, IL 60447.
The pickup date and time is Thursday, September 12, 2013, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Public Works Department parking lot, 13 West 73rd Avenue. A paid receipt is required to verify purchase information. For residents unable to pick up the rain barrel on September 12, they are asked to arrange for it to be picked up by a friend, relative or neighbor. The order deadline is September 5th.
These 55-gallon rain barrels are made from recycled food grade barrels and are available in blue or black at $51 each or in terra cotta or gray at $56 each if paid by check; for those paying by credit card, rain barrels in blue or black cost $53.50 each or in terra cotta or gray at $58.50 each; the credit card payment includes a $2.50 processing fee. All parts are included with each rain barrel.
