Oak Lawn Man Using an Alias Arrested for 1984 Rape

A 47 year old man wanted in a 1984 rape case was found last week in Oak Lawn, Illinois, living under another name. The Cook County Sheriff's Office reports, on Saturday, investigators positively identified Manuel Acosta, who was using the alias of Manuel Soto Galvan, and arrested him without incident in the four-thousand block of West Wainwright Place in Oak Lawn.  Authorities report Acosta is one of three men accused of sexually assaulting a woman by force in a van in Chicago, which was reported in November of 1984. Acosta had been wanted on a warrant for criminal sexual assault and violation of bail bond since June of 1985. At last check he was being held at the Cook County Jail without bond. The other two suspects, 56 year old Jose Contreas and 48 year old Amancio Salinas, also have outstanding arrest warrants and anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact the Central Warrant Unit at 708-865-4902.
