OUCC Testifies on NIPSCO's Electric Infrastructure Plan

The Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor today announced they do not object to most aspects of NIPSCO's proposed seven-year electric infrastructure replacement plan, however, they believe NIPSCO's proposed methodology for recovering the plan's one-point-zero-seven billion dollars in costs should be denied. An Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission technical evidentiary hearing on both cases is scheduled to start on November 12th in Indianapolis. NIPSCO's request is the first to be filed under Senate Enrolled Act 560, a new Indiana law approved earlier this year to amend the Indiana Code concerning utilities.
Last week NIPSCO announced a 713-million dollar plan to modernize its natural gas system through the end of the decade and the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor is expected to file testimony on January 10, 2014.
