Annie was born and raised in Northwest Indiana with her younger sister and parents in Hammond. After spending some time out of the area chasing the radio dream she has moved back to start a family with her two main men: Jager the mutt and fiance Rob. When she is not on the air Annie enjoys cheering her favorite Chicago sports teams (Da Bears, Da Bulls, And Da Sox), hiking, and exploring new fairs and festivals! (Anything Deep Fried she's in!) Annie cannot wait to share her life with you on air and is excited to be back in the Region doing what she loves!

Get Out And Ride!

Annie's Blog

Yesterday, I decided to start a new after work routine. As long as the weather cooperates, I plan on riding my bike before making the trek home! Yesterday, I began my journey at Imagination Glenn Park in Portage and rode the trail to Downtown Chesterton! What an awesome ride... just the right amount of effort needed!!!

Also, I enjoyed checking out the many businesses in Chesterton! Guess I didn't realize the great antique shops I could find along my journey! Too bad I haven't attached that basket to my bike or else I would have came home with a bunch of stuff!

I'm looking for more places to explore if you have any suggestions let me know on Facebook!

National Night Out

Annie's Blog

Tonight is National Night Out... This night is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness and to promote police-community partnerships. Will you be taking part in any events tonight? We have plenty of events going on around the Region (Thanks to The Times):

EAST CHICAGO | The city will host National Night Out from 5 to 10 p.m. at Washington Park Pool. A workshop will be held Thursday at the Pastrick library branch on parenting to prevent bullying. That workshop also will begin at 5:30 p.m

Hammond and local crime/community watch groups will host National Night Out at the Wolf Lake Splash Pad. National Night Out is from 5 to 8 p.m. at the splash pad, 121st Street and Calumet Avenue.

Admission to the event is free with a donation of cat/dog food, cat litter, bleach, blankets or pet treats for Hammond Animal Control. The event, aimed at promoting drug and crime prevention in the community, will feature free pontoon boat rides, face painting and temporary tattoos for children and a canine demonstration. Free hot dogs, chips and pop will be provided with donation.

The Portage Police and Fire departments will be participating in the National Night Out. Both departments will have vehicles on display in the east parking lot of Willowcreek Middle School, Central Avenue and Willowcreek Road, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The departments also will be handing out safety materials, and police will be fingerprinting children.

Gold Medal Dreamin'

Annie's Blog

Tonight the Olympic games officially kick off in London with the Opening Ceremony! Will you be watching? (I'll be up at the Pierogi Fest!) I LOVE the Olympics and cannot wait to watch swimming and gymnastics this year!

I can remember my first love of the Olympics was the Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan battle. (literally) I wanted to be an Olympic skater so badly after the '94 games! Too bad skating was a little too expensive for my dad!

In '96 it was Atlanta. We got a chance to design an Olympic logo and name the mascot for the games in my Girl Scouts troop and I thought it was the coolest! After '96 my focus shifted to being a gymnast! (Too bad I was slightly over the age and weight of most athletes!)

What will London 2012 bring? I cannot wait to find out! Maybe I could be a table tennis star? No a beach volleyball player?... Or maybe a....?

Putting On A Show

Annie's Blog

Yesterday went to the Taste of Chicago to see the free Dierks Bentley concert and boy was it HOTT!!!! I think I may have had more fun people watching than seeing what was on stage! There was this group of couples in front of us putting on quite a show! At one point a guy dumped a full beer all over his girl and then proceeded to drop her in the trash can! Here's an after the concert pic of him!

I bring this up cause have you heard of the mom suing Justin Bieber for damaging her hearing at one of his concerts! She said the screams from his fans were too loud to go along with his music! DUH! (Check Out More Here) Do you think she has a case?

Let us know on Facebook!
