JUDGE JOE BROWN ARRESTED AND HELD IN CONTEMPT AFTER MELTDOWN IN COURT

Judge Joe Brown was arrested yesterday after a courtroom meltdown. TEXAS TOWN PAYS TED NUGENT $16,250 NOT TO PLAY AT FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION

A Texas town was so intent on ridding themselves of the Motor City Madman that city officials opted to pay out more than $15,000 to have Ted Nugent not play on the Fourth of July. Longview was in negotiations to have Nugent play at the Fireworks and Freedom Celebration on Independence Day, but backed out after Nugent called President Obama a “subhuman mongrel” while campaigning with Texas gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott earlier this year. According to city spokesman Shawn Hara, Longview had other concerns that led to Nugent being paid $16,250 to end contract negotiations. The amount was half of Nugent’s guaranteed performance fee.

LEAKED 32-PAGE THE VOICE CONTRACT SHOWS NBC CAN IGNORE VIEWER VOTES, EXPOSE PSYCH TESTS AND SUE CONTESTANTS FOR $1 MILLION

A leaked legal document that contestants of The Voice must sign in order to appear on the TV talent show has exposed the production's potential for distortion and the umbrella of power NBC ensures it has. The 32-page contract was obtained by the NY Daily News and details how producers can cut anyone from the line-up, break and change rules of the competition at their discretion, script winners and send the singing hopefuls for medical and/or psychological tests and broadcast the results. One clause also reportedly says they can ignore the show's voting system in “the event of problems.” Another warns contestants the show “may be disparaging, defamatory, embarrassing (and) may expose [them] to public ridicule, humiliation or condemnation.” It also warns they could “portray [them] in a false light.” The cast-iron contract has been drafted so that none of the fledgling reality stars that enter the show can sue NBC afterwards.

MICHAEL BAY WILL REMAKE ALFRED HITCHCOCK'S “THE BIRDS”

Michael Bay is set to produce an upcoming remake of The Birds. The Transformers director will certainly face high expectations as he takes on Alfred Hitchcock's classic 1963 film. Bay will produce the movie, while Dutch filmmaker Diederik Van Rooijen will direct. The film was loosely based on a 1952 short story of the same name, and Naomi Watts will reportedly star as lead character Melanie Daniels, brought to life in the original film by actress Tippi Hedren. The character is a socialite who travels to Bodega Bay, California after an encounter with a man named Mitch Brenner. When she seeks out Brenner in his hometown, the city is suddenly hit with a series of inexplicable and violent attacks by birds.

CHARRED SUNGLASSES WORN BY PAUL WALKER IN HORROR CRASH ARE AUCTIONED OFF BY MAN WHO TOOK THEM FROM SCENE OF HIS DEATH

The sunglasses worn by Paul Walker on the day he died have been placed up for auction. The actor perished alongside his friend Roger Rodas on November 30, when the car they were traveling in lost control and crashed. And the seller of the accessories claims to have stopped to help at the crash scene in Santa Clarita, California. According to the auction listing on BidAMI.com, the mystery owner says police ordered him away from the scene but he returned to look when the wreckage was cleared and found the sunglasses in the bushes. The listing states: “The owner of this lot offering was nearby and on scene for information and assistance with officers and reporters.  Once the site investigation was cleared with car debris hauled away and tape taken down, a responding officer allowed him as well as others back to the public site. The listing on BidAMI.com also includes a fire extinguisher which the owner claims was used on the scene, crash debris and photographs taken at the site. The lot has so far attracted three bids, and the current sale price is $605.
