About-Annie

Annie was born and raised in Northwest Indiana with her younger sister and parents in Hammond. After spending some time out of the area chasing the radio dream she has moved back to start a family with her two main men: Jager the mutt and fiance Rob. When she is not on the air Annie enjoys cheering her favorite Chicago sports teams (Da Bears, Da Bulls, And Da Sox), hiking, and exploring new fairs and festivals! (Anything Deep Fried she's in!) Annie cannot wait to share her life with you on air and is excited to be back in the Region doing what she loves!

Your wedding day is a day you dream to be perfect. However, if you have ever had one, you know something will inevitably go wrong! It's all about rolling with the punches! On our wedding day it rained, the batteries were dead in the ceremony stereo (so no music to walk down the aisle), and our flower girl was sick! That being said, there's not much I would change about the big day... well maybe some stuff!!! Is there anything you would change? Here is what most brides answered in a new survey:

TOP TEN BRIDAL REGRETS
1. Best man’s speech: 52 percent
2. Hair and make-up: 38 percent
3. Wish I’d spent more overall: 34 percent
4. The weather 33 percent
5. Wedding dress: 32 percent
6. Honeymoon destination 31 percent
7. Poor wedding pictures 30 percent
8. Engagement ring 24 percent
9. Bridesmaids 21 percent
10. Bouquet 17 percent

What Do You Tip?

Are you a bad tipper? What is usually your general rule of thumb... 15/18/20 Percent? I usually base mine on what I would want for a tip, if I was still waiting tables. If you have never served before, you should be aware most of the wait staff is working on an hourly rate under $3.  Truthfully, most are counting on your tips to feed their family, pay their bills, go to school, etc. So who falls under the worst tipper category... Young Adults!! Check out the findings of a new study:

THE AMERICANS WHO TIP LESS THAN 15%

  1. Ages 18 to 34: 30%

  2. Age 35 and older: 16%

  3. Midwest diners: 26%

  4. Western diners: 24%

  5. Southern diners: 22%

  6. Northeastern diners: 15%

  7. Americans on average: 20%

FREE Doughnuts!!!

Today is National Donut Day. National Donut Day began in 1938 as a Salvation Army fundraiser. Here are some National Donut Day freebies.

Dunkin’ Donuts
Participating  Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants  will offer guests a free donut of their choice (while supplies last) with the purchase of any beverage.  According to RestaurantNews.com, this offer is good worldwide, making it Global Doughnut Day at Dunkin’ Donuts.

Krispy Kreme
All participating locations in the United States and Canada will give you a free doughnut of your choice, while supplies last.  No purchase is necessary.   Krispy Kreme  has even created a hashtag for this event—#NationalDoughnutDay2014.

Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop
Tim Hortons has 870 restaurants in the United States, and they will be handing out free doughnuts with a purchase.

So, what flavor of FREE doughnut will you be going for? For me it's always a Chocolate Cake Doughnut!!! Here's what your favorite says about your personality:

HOT GLAZED – You have an appreciation for beauty in simple things. You’re grounded, amiable and easy to please. You have a good eye for the aesthetically pleasing. You tend to be someone that doesn’t take long to get to know.

CHOCOLATE-ICED – You are someone who knows what you like and sticks with it, whether it is food, clothes, work or people. You are a good listener and a friend for life.  You can get a little anxious if things are in the wrong places.

LEMON-FILLED – Smooth, sexy and articulate with your hands, you are an excellent after-dinner speaker and a good teacher. Your wit is clever, sometimes even taking people off guard. You have a hard time finding someone who can handle a long-term relationship with you.

SPRINKLES – You’re fun-loving, not afraid to get messy. You know the value in slapstick comedy and you’re a great prankster. Sometimes you can get a little nutty and childlike, but you do know when to keep that side of you in check.
