This weekend was by far the most restful I've had in FOREVER!!! How was yours? I may slowly be becoming an adult... I mean on Friday I was in bed by 10:30!!!
However, Saturday we had a chance to meet with our awesome photographer Mark and shoot our engagement pics. The day couldn't have been better at Lincoln Park Zoo. He sent us over some previews and now I cannot wait till the end of the week when we get the rest!!! Check them out:

After sleeping the rest of the day away Saturday (literally slept from 4pm-10am the next day), we spent Sunday exploring some possible future neighborhoods on bike! It was awesome! Cannot wait to resume the house hunt today and find a place! Stay tuned.

I found out I am a horrible house hunter yesterday! I'm like a little kid, easily distracted by pretty things! Every house we went into was nicely decorated and painted and all I could keep saying is “Ooo I like this couch...” Rob and our realtor probably wanted to kill me by the end of the night! Good thing they are looking at the structural part of the house while I'm dazed by the cosmetics!
Here's some highlights:
First House: Looking at family pics, Rob goes “Hey I know this guy... it's DJ Blah Blah Blah” Apparently, they used to work together at a bar back in the day!
Second House: Claimed to have 2 bathrooms... didn't mention the 2nd bathroom was a toilet next to the washer and dryer in a walk through area to the 2nd bedroom!
Third House: Me in the basement: “Why is there a sheet stapled to the ceiling?” Our realtor Melissa: “Better yet, why is there a dirty mattress in the corner?” Yup... people are squatting in the house!
But she saved the best for last...
Fourth House: No power, gotta use flashlights. Shoulda known better than to look at a house without pictures online. Walk in to this horrible smell... find the first bedroom that has this stain on the carpet that looks like someone has been murdered! See about 20 bleach containers on the kitchen counter... walk through the garage into the basement... smell gets much worse... look up to see black mold EVERYWHERE! Make it to the back bedroom and the walls have these weird handprints all over them! Turn around and find the biggest spider I have ever seen!!! (PS: Rob HATES spiders) I swear this coulda been the next setting for American Horror Story!
Also, was kinda disappointed... my two favorite houses were sold this week before we even had a chance to look at them! Boo!! Well I guess as they say, it can only go up from here! More houses to look at this evening... let's hope for the best!!!

Yesterday, I was in the restroom listening to these two women complain about the size of their engagement rings! The one said she was disappointed that her fiance didn't spend more to pick out a bigger ring... what?!?!? I am a totally opposite bride... I would have been mad if I found out Rob spent too much on my ring! I tried looking up the standard for engagement rings and found most people expect to spend 2-3 months worth of salary! WHAT!!! (Check Out More Here)
What do you think? How much should/would you spend on an engagement ring? I'm thinking you go with what you can afford... lord knows weddings are expensive enough! Let's hear your thoughts on Facebook!
