DID CNN SPOIL THE OSCARS?
Social media users got into a tizzy on Monday night (February 10th) after CNN aired a segment on the Academy Awards that appeared to reveal Leonardo DiCaprio as the winner of the Best Performance By An Actor in a Leading Role category. Ted Rowlands' story that took viewers on a tour of the Chicago factory where the Oscar statues are made ended with an image of a gold plate that had Leo's name inscribed on it which led many to believe they had seen it by mistake but E! The plates that get created for nominees who don't win are later recycled.
