The UN General Assembly votes today on Palestine's request to be upgraded to a "non-member observer state," which is expected to pass overwhelmingly. One hundred thirty-two of the 193 countries in the UNGA have recognized Palestine, so the request has a good chance of passing, despite the efforts of the United States and Israel to stop it.
