Playground equipment at Buffington Park, one of the city parks in Gary recented restored through the Adopt-A-Park program, fell victim to vandals.  Public Information Officer Cpl. Gabrielle King of the Gary Police Department said the incident happened sometime between 5pm last Friday evening and 8pm Monday night.  King said vandals poured accelerate on playground equipment, causing some of the equipment made from plastic melt.  Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson said the city will offer a reward for information leading to the arrest of individuals who destoryed the equipment.
