The online Indianapolis Star...indystar-dot-com... and other media outlets downstate are reporting that sources say Governor Daniels could be named the next president of Purdue. The university's Board of Trustees is expected to vote on and announce their choice Thursday. Purdue's current leader France Cordova announced earlier she plans to leave the office the middle of next month after five years in the post. Daniels, whose second term as governor ends at the end of the year, is prohibited by term limits from running again this year. WISH-TV political reporter Jim Shella out of Indianapolis is speculating Daniels would finish his term and Purdue would appoint an interim president.
