The U.S. Coast Guard in Chicago is alerting boaters, especially those in small crafts, to be aware of near-shore wave conditions today. The Coast Guard says anyone planning to watch practice sessions for this weekend's Air and Water Show can expect waves in the range of 2-4 feet...moderate wave conditions causing white caps and seas to crash over area breakwalls.  Speaking of the Air and Water Show...the South Shore Line will be running extra eastbound trains during the show in Chicago on Saturday and Sunday.  However, according to NICTD, the extra train will not serve Hudson Lake or South Bend--also, alcohol is prohibited on all South Shore trains on August 18th and 19th.
