The Indiana State Excise Police issued nearly 350 citations this weekend at three college campuses as part of a back-to-campus special enforcement. A record number of 258 citations were issued Wednesday through Saturday night during Welcome Week at Indiana University's Bloomington campus, and medical treatment was sought for four people police say had blood-alcohol content readings of greater than .25%. The state's legal limit for those of drinking age is .08%.
On Friday and Saturday in Muncie, 57 tickets were issued during Ball State's move-in Weekend.  In South Bend, 32 citations were issued during Notre Dame's move-in weekend. They included twelve students in a single vehicle cited on various charges after police say their car left a liquor store then was stopped for littering.
They told police they were members of Notre Dame's Lacrosse team.

Indiana State Police Excise Officers in the Intensified College Enforcement, or ICE program, launched last semester, aiming to reduce underage drinking at Ball State, Butler, IU, Indiana State, Notre Dame and Purdue.
