A Crown Point woman was arrested Monday in connection with the death of her husband in Arizona ten years ago. Indiana State Police Detective Chris Campione worked with the Prescott, Arizona Police Department in locating 61-year-old Jane Leslie Carpenter, a-k-a Jane Leslie, who was taken into custody in northwest Indiana on an Arizona warrant for first degree murder charges. Authorities say shortly after her husband's death, Carpenter returned to Indiana. Reports say Carpenter ran an interior design business based out of her house in Crown Point and was arrested as she arrived at a client's house in LaPorte.

LaPorte County-A Crown Point woman was arrested this morning, Monday, October 29, 2012, on a warrant issued out of Prescott, Arizona for 1st Degree Murder.
Indiana State Police Detective Chris Campione worked with the Prescott Arizona Police Department in tracking down Jane Leslie Carpenter (aka Jane Leslie), 61 of Crown Point and arresting her. This warrant stems from an investigation into the murder of Carpenter’s husband in June 2002 when they resided in Prescott. Shortly after the murder Carpenter returned to Indiana. Additional information was received by Prescott Police this past year which led to the warrant being issued for her arrest.
Carpenter was arrested as she arrived at a client’s house in LaPorte. Carpenter (Leslie) ran a business based out of her house in Crown Point.
Carpenter (Leslie) was taken to LaPorte County Jail where she will await extradition back to Arizona.
