High winds are battering the Region. The number of power outages is growing across northwest Indiana this morning. As of 7am, Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) was reporting more than 2,200 outages, with nearly 1,000 of those in Michigan City. There were more than 500 outages in Valparaiso and more than 200 in LaPorte.
