Motorists are expected to be able to start using the Vale Park Road Bridge over State Road 49 this Wednesday. INDOT Spokesman Matt Deitchley says the seven-point-two million dollar project, 200-thousand of which came from the City of Valparaiso, works a “welcome” to the city, with a back-lit sign that says, “Valparaiso”, decorative lighting, and a textured side to the bridge that looks like wind-swept dunes. Deitchley says a roundabout system is used at the end of the ramps to get on and off State Road 49 and onto Vale Park Road, which he says is a little different, but more efficient and safer. The project, which was scheduled to be wrapped up by the end of the month, will now open about a week and a half ahead of schedule.
